STEM CELLS Summer Program by Barak Source For Learning
is a free summer program offered for 7 weeks. The first week is always a leadership training for our volunteers. Followed by 3 2 week session of STEM camps. We try to serve up to 60 youth participants not including the youth counselors/volunteers. We provide fieldtrips to laboratories and other STEM related jobs along with classes from leading specialist in various fields. We also design service learning projects weekly and Swimming lessons and weekly pool trips.
Our programs help youth make inferences for critical principals of education. Our programs provide supplemental educational assistance during the crucial summer months when most information is lost. We also encourage STEM to minorities and those that are underserved.
Youth participants in this program usually cannot afford camps during the summer. Camps that provide STEM related services are not always offered in communities that most need them. We provide programs to communities and neighborhoods that don't always receive these type of services.
Our programs bring together students with mentors and agencies that can help them achieve a career in science technology math or engineering. We bring County and City officials together to support education during the summer. Our program serve Traditional, Year round and charter school students truly supporting Education. We also provide volunteer hours to youth young adults and adults and opportunities to serve during our numerous service learning projects.
